Position Overview

We're looking for a motivated, curious, and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to help grow GCPay.

GCPay helps general contractors simplify and automate one of the most complex parts of construction: subcontractor billing and payments. Our platform helps contractors manage subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers, compliance, tiered subcontractors, and electronic payments while connecting with the accounting and project management systems they already use.

As a GCPay BDR, you'll be responsible for creating new pipeline by identifying contractors that could benefit from GCPay, engaging key decision-makers, uncovering pain in their current processes, and generating qualified opportunities for the sales team.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys prospecting, wants to develop strong sales fundamentals, and is interested in construction technology and the Autodesk ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Build pipeline through targeted outbound prospecting into general contractors and construction organizations

  • Engage prospects through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels

  • Research target accounts and identify relevant stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, and Executive Leadership

  • Conduct initial discovery to understand how contractors currently manage:

    • Subcontractor pay applications

    • Lien waivers

    • Compliance and insurance documentation

    • Tiered subcontractors and vendors

    • Subcontractor payments

  • Identify manual processes, inefficiencies, risk, and other compelling reasons for customers to evaluate GCPay

  • Schedule qualified discovery meetings and demonstrations for GCPay Account Executives

  • Partner closely with Autodesk sales teams to identify GCPay opportunities within existing Autodesk accounts

  • Educate Autodesk sellers on GCPay use cases and help them recognize opportunities within their territories

  • Develop relationships with internal sales partners and turn referrals into qualified pipeline

  • Follow up on inbound leads, events, campaigns, and other sources of customer interest

  • Maintain accurate prospecting activity, account information, and opportunity notes in CRM

  • Consistently achieve or exceed activity, meeting, and pipeline-generation goals

  • Share customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and common objections with the broader GCPay team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and comfort engaging prospects by phone and email

  • Curiosity and the ability to ask thoughtful business questions rather than relying solely on scripted pitches

  • Competitive, self-motivated, and comfortable working toward measurable goals

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to learn technical and financial workflows and communicate them in a simple way

  • Willingness to prospect consistently and navigate rejection

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Account Executives and broader Autodesk sales teams

  • Interest in construction technology, SaaS, fintech, or B2B sales

  • Coachable mindset with a desire to continuously improve

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of BDR, SDR, inside sales, or other customer-facing experience

  • Experience prospecting into mid-market or enterprise organizations

  • Experience selling SaaS or technology solutions

  • Familiarity with the construction industry or construction technology

  • Exposure to construction accounting, ERP, or project management platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Sage, Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Procore, QuickBooks, or similar systems

  • Experience working within a partner or channel-driven sales motion is a plus
