Job Summary:
The Interim Technical Accounting Consultant provides contract technical accounting advisory services, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of complex accounting issues during periods of transition or increased demand. This role researches and applies relevant accounting standards, prepares technical memos, and supports clients with the implementation of new accounting guidance. The Interim Technical Accounting Consultant collaborates with finance teams, supports audits, and maintains confidentiality of client information. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality service and supporting the transition to permanent technical accounting leadership.
This role will work a sporadic and fluctuating schedule.
Job Duties:
Researches and interprets complex accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS)
Prepares technical accounting memos and documentation
Advises clients on the implementation of new accounting guidance
Coordinates with client finance and audit teams to resolve technical accounting issues
Reviews and analyzes financial statements for compliance with relevant standards
Supports internal and external audits related to technical accounting matters
Implements process improvements to enhance technical accounting efficiency
Maintains confidentiality and security of client information
Supports transition and training for incoming technical accounting leadership

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, required
Experience
Five (5) or more years of technical accounting experience, required
Two (2) or more years of experience in a consulting or advisory role, preferred
Experience with complex accounting issues and financial statement preparation, preferred
Experience providing technical accounting services in a contract or consulting environment, preferred
License(s)/Certification(s)
CPA, required
Software
Proficiency in accounting research tools and financial reporting software, required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $75/hr - $105/hr
Maryland Range: $75/hr - $105/hr
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $75/hr - $105/hr
