With a distinctive multi-stage, multi-sector investment approach and a growing array of capital offerings, BIP Capital has generated consistent top quartile returns since 2009.

ABOUT BIP VENTURES

BIP Ventures, the North American-focused venture capital division of BIP Capital, is a highly active venture capital firm based in the Southeast. BIP Ventures partners with extraordinary founders to drive exceptional outcomes. Since 2007, BIP Ventures has invested in the success of B2B software and tech-enabled service businesses at all stages of maturity. In addition to capital, it supports entrepreneurs with access to infrastructure, acumen, and talent, resulting in category-leading companies.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We are champions of our investors' goals and stewards of founders' dreams, but more than that, we are ethical, honest partners who serve, educate, and protect our founders and investors. We take on the challenges and complex conversations because we operate out of integrity and genuine care.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic, growth-oriented Associate Product Owner to join our BIP Wealth Tech team and contribute to the development of BIP's innovative technology products. This is a support-focused, execution-oriented role, an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career product professional who is eager to learn, comfortable with shifting priorities, and ready to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As an Associate Product Owner for BIP Wealth Tech, you will work hands-on with our platform team, which is responsible for our core CRM platform development, supporting backlog management, writing user stories and release notes, managing our Jira Service Desk, performing QA, and collaborating closely with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. You'll be the face of our support queue, responding to users effectively and building trust through clear, timely communication. We're looking for someone who is personable and engaging in stakeholder conversations, eager to learn how to drive UI adoption through demonstrated value creation, and comfortable getting hands-on with integrating third-party systems into existing workflows. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, decisiveness, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex domain, including finance and wealth management concepts.

LOCATION: Hybrid with ability to be on-site when required out of Buckhead / Atlanta Office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Backlog Support: Assist in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog under the guidance of senior team members, ensuring the team is focused on delivering high-value work.
  • User Story & Release Note Writing: Write and refine clear, concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria; draft release notes to communicate product updates to stakeholders.
  • Jira Service Desk Management: Serve as the primary point of contact and face of the support queue, owning day-to-day triage and resolution of service desk requests, maintaining a 24–48-hour SLA for responses and escalating as appropriate.
  • Sprint Participation: Actively participate in grooming and sprint planning sessions; support efforts to keep the backlog 1–2 sprints ahead with 'ready' work.
  • QA & Feature Validation: Perform acceptance testing and quality assurance on user stories to ensure features meet requirements and are free of critical defects before release.
  • Small-to-Medium Feature Delivery: Take ownership of small and medium-sized features end-to-end, from writing epics and stories as directed through to release.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a day-to-day liaison between engineering and business stakeholders; build strong working relationships, support UI adoption efforts, and keep communication clear
  • Multi-System Requirements Management: Manage requirements across multiple systems, including third-party integrations into existing workflows, ensuring they are clear, traceable, and aligned across stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Feedback Collection: Participate in sprint reviews, gather and document stakeholder feedback to continuously improve the product and inform backlog prioritization.
  • Documentation: Support the creation of process flows, user guides, and internal documentation as needed.
  • AI Solution Building: Assist in identifying opportunities to build AI solutions that augment or enhance existing workflows, partnering with engineering to translate ideas into clear, actionable requirements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in product development, project coordination, or working within Agile/Scrum teams, specifically with software, platform, or web-based products. Experience in wealth management, fintech, or a related analytical or technology role will also be considered.
  • Technical Acumen: Jira is the primary tool; Confluence is a plus. Experience with Rally or equivalent Agile platforms is acceptable. Basic familiarity with the software development lifecycle is expected.
  • AI Fluency: Hands-on experience using AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms, for prototyping, design exploration, or accelerating product workflows. Exposure to or interest in building AI solutions that augment or enhance workflows is a plus.
  • Domain Comfort: Comfortable working within complex domains, including wealth management, finance, or venture capital concepts. You don't need to arrive as an expert, but you must be willing and able to learn quickly.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and teammates.
  • People Skills: Friendly, curious, and emotionally intelligent. You build rapport easily, especially with engineers, are personable and engaging in stakeholder interviews and conversations, adapt to various personalities, and bring energy that improves team dynamics.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: You take initiative, ask questions to fill knowledge gaps, and demonstrate resourcefulness.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: Comfortable operating within shifting priorities and frequent pivots. Open to feedback and quick to adapt to you, you see ambiguity as a normal part of a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to gather and interpret information to support product decisions and backlog prioritization. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are prioritized over deep analytics.
  • Systems Integration Exposure: Exposure to or interest in integrating third-party systems into existing workflows is a plus; you don't need deep experience, but comfort learning how systems connect is important.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience is welcomed.
SUCCESS METRICS
  • At 90 Days: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of our core CRM platform and other internal systems, and team workflows. Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders by supporting sprint ceremonies, triaging Jira Service Desk requests within the 24–48-hour SLA and contributing well-written user stories. Maintain a backlog with 1–2 sprints of groomed, ready work.
  • At Six Months: Independently triage and resolve 90% of service desk requests within SLA, establishing yourself as a reliable face of the support queue. Contribute consistently to sprint ceremonies and maintain backlog management 3–4 sprints ahead. Take ownership of at least one small project end-to-end, delivering quality work from user story through release. Maintain accurate Jira documentation and actively support stakeholder feedback loops.
  • At One Year: Demonstrate readiness to independently manage the backlog and own 1–2 active medium projects end-to-end. Begin contributing strategic insights to product decisions. Become a reliable resource across our core platforms, contribute to internal documentation, and show clear progress toward full Product Owner-level responsibilities.
