Job description

Job summary: operate an automated side loading refuse truck to collect residential solid waste and recycling safely and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•         Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; complete and submit driver inspection reports at end of each shift.

•         Provide prompt and courteous side load residential services to commercial and residential customers.

•         Drive ASL truck in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations and company guidelines.

•         Complete all routes safely

•         Maintain, update and complete driver paperwork to be turned in at the end of each shift.

•         Using excellent customer service skills; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of the general public.

REQUIREMENTS:

•         Valid Class B/CDL combination with Air Break Endorsement. Class A preferred.

•         Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug screening.

•         Must pass the post-employment DOT physical.

•         Must obtain a current DOT medical card.

•         Must be insurable at all times with company’s current insurance carrier.  

•         Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (including but not limited to; sitting, lifting and pushing up to 50lbs., pulling, reaching, climbing, twisting, crouching, stooping, crawling, kneeling and scraping). Some laboring is required.

•         Possess general knowledge of the mechanics of trucks to do minor vehicle maintenance.  

•         Ability to plan out routes to ensure traveling the most efficient way

•         Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays

•         Ability to work in all weather conditions.
