About this Position

Langston University is building a pool of qualified adjunct instructors to support our Second Chance Pell Program. Positions are temporary and based on departmental needs, which vary by semester and location. Selected candidates will teach undergraduate courses within the Business Administration curriculum, specifically at the Dick Conner Correctional Center.

About Langston University:
Langston University, Oklahoma's only Historically Black College and University (HBCU), offers a range of undergraduate and graduate degrees. The School of Business provides robust academic programs in accounting, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, supply chain management, and more-rooted in a commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and access.

Business Administration (BBA):
The Bachelor of Business Administration is a flexible, marketable degree designed to prepare students for leadership roles across private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Students gain practical skills and experience across key functional business areas.

Second Chance Pell Program:
Launched in 2015, the Second Chance Pell Program provides Pell Grants to incarcerated individuals for eligible postsecondary programs. Langston University's program, active since 2007 at the Dick Conner Correctional Center, has awarded over 500 certificates and degrees-demonstrating the transformative impact of accessible education.

We are seeking passionate adjunct instructors to teach business-related courses and support this mission of second chances through education.


Course Areas of Interest:

We are looking for adjuncts qualified to teach in one or more of the following areas:

  • Accounting

  • Business Statistics

  • Computer Science

  • Economics

  • Finance

  • Management

  • Marketing

  • Mathematics


Typical Duties:
  • Develop and deliver course content, including syllabus and lecture materials

  • Provide instruction in person at the correctional facility

  • Assign and grade coursework and exams

  • Maintain accurate records and submit grades on time

  • Ability to travel to the teaching location (Dick Conner Correctional Center)
Required Qualifications
  • Master's
    • With at least 18 graduate credit hours in the designated subject area or equivalent professional experience
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the subject area

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D./Ed.D.
    • From an accredited institution
    • Minimum of five years of professional work experience in the subject area

    • Prior college-level teaching experience
