Job description

Position Overview

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable and expense functions.

Responsibilities
  • Coding of adโ€‘hoc payments and supplier invoices within accounting software systems
  • Review of expense reports and pโ€‘card transactions for accuracy and compliance with established company policies
  • Threeโ€‘way match of receipts, purchase orders, and supplier invoices
  • Vendor maintenance, including setโ€‘up and changes
  • Monitoring and responding to suppliers and vendors via shared email inbox
  • Prepare basic/standard journal entries, including recurring journal entries and monthโ€‘end accruals
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations
  • Work closely with multiple department leaders on their financial results
  • Assist with analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving variances
  • Contribute to the development and review of process documentation and internal controls
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; seek ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality; meet productivity standards; complete work in a timely manner; strive to increase productivity; work quickly
  • Follow proper internal audit guidelines
  • Actively support and contribute to the departmentโ€™s commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
  • Handle other adโ€‘hoc requests from the business or finance leaders
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
  • BS or BBA in accounting required
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Customer service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (primarily Excel)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others, to meet deadlines
