What We Are Looking For
The Staff Physician is a full time role which will clinically support the core mission of Baylor University Health Center in providing timely, evidence-based, patient-centered healthcare to the Baylor Univerity student body including undergraduates and graduates as well as from time to time as needed, Baylor University faculty and staff and their dependants. The staff physician will deliver care that is concordant with the expressly Christian mission and vision of the university and with the Baylor in Deeds strategic plan in pursuit of the flourishing of the whole Baylor community.
A Doctoral degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. A Doctoral degree and five years of relevant experience are preferred.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
  • Provision of exemplary, comprehensive ambulatory patient care to include a comprehensive assessment (a thorough history and physical as well as any indicated labs, imaging and other studies) and formulation of evidence based treatment plans
  • Maintain confidentiality and be reliably available to patients when they seek care or advice
  • Demonstrate knowledge of counseling experience with patients regarding medical and/or psychological problems, provide preventive care and consult as appropriate when a higher level of care is indicated
  • Provision of technically excellent, timely and compassionate procedural care informed by the most recent evidence; such care will encompass all office based procedures within the scope of Family Medicine including but not limited to those of a dermatologic, gynecologic, muskuloskeletel, acute emergency care and patient stabilization nature
  • Demonstrate competency with, and knowledge of, healthcare related technology using electronic health records and computerized medical programs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Timely entry of appropriate E&M billing and procedural codes in an ethical manner that accurately reflects the value of the work performed and accords to faithful stewardship of fiscal resources as well as compassionate acknowledgement of student financial hardship and need
  • Maintain, in a timely manner all required professional affiliations, licences, certifications, etc.
  • Exhibit an appreciation for intercultural engagement and the differing health needs for the students, faculty, and staff at Baylor University
  • Participate in all required and assigned committees and staff functions of the Health Center
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
