Job Description

This position will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 5-Axis CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, proficiency in interpreting blueprints, and the ability to work independently to achieve production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot 5-Axis CNC Milling Machines.
  • Produce precision quality parts machining a variety of materials to engineering specifications (SS304, 316L, aluminum and a variety of plastics, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret prints (ISO - First Angle Projection and metric system).
  • Perform own setups.
  • Review Production Status Report and complete orders as needed.
  • Record job in ERP system (scanning bar code)
  • Follow check list: shop employee pre-Inspection prior to work step
  • Inspect work completed on CNC 5-Axis Machines for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures and gauges.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed.
  • Perform light preventative maintenance tasks on CNC Machines to maintain machinery performance and prevent machine downtime.
  • Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with all internal, customer and government regulations.
  • Promote customer focus
Qualifications

Skills:

  • Familiar with the metric system
  • Familiarity with G & M codes or ProtoTrak controls is a plus
  • Ability to read prints and use measuring tools
  • Experience in turning lathe is a plus
  • 5-Axis CNC machine setup and operation
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Precision measuring tools

Competencies:                                                            

  • Quick learner to become proficient at editing programs and controls
  • Work independently
  • Highly dependable with an excellent attendance record is required

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED. Preferably from a vocational-technical high school, the completion of an apprenticeship program, or a community college/technical school training program.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the manufacturing shop environment.  
  • In addition to competitive compensation, you will enjoy working in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment and be provided with company-paid uniforms.
Additional Information

Position Type: This is a full-time (non-exempt/hourly) position. Compensation will be based on experience. Non-exempt employees will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times the calculated hourly rate for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

Hours: First Shift, M-F, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm - Overtime is possible
