Position Overview
The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for making quality concrete and providing it in a timely manner to the production crew. It is the Batch Plant Operator's responsibility to ensure all the concrete we produce meets the required specifications.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for making quality concrete and providing it in a timely manner to the production crew
  • Batch product with the proper mix and water content, making any necessary raw material and moisture adjustments. Understand the proper use of each mix design
  • Ensure that all products to be delivered meet or exceed company and customer expectations.

  • Complete customer orders, schedule deliveries, paperwork, and small plant maintenance
  • Keep mixer and batch plant area clean
  • Ensure all equipment continually remains in safe and efficient operating condition
  • Monitor all preventative and regular maintenance on equipment
  • Schedule and plan material deliveries based on information provided by Dispatch to meet the deliver needs of the company. Ensure deliveries are made promptly, safely, and efficiently.
  • Ensure that a safe workplace is maintained.
  • Ensure that operation remains in compliance with all applicable environmental standards.
  • Maintain the plant's condition, mechanically and esthetically. Partner with the maintenance department when necessary to ensure the plant is in working condition.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the daily paperwork required by the company.
  • Assist plant management as needed with other duties as assigned
  • Maintain good working relationships with co-workers and outside personnel.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties
  • Able to operate a front loader
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with the ability to use batch mixing system
