The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Production Batch Analyst to support daily operations for a federal government financial system. The production batch analyst provides technical support maintaining new and existing batch schedules using certain batch scheduling tools. The analyst performs functions with the mainframe and/or a client server environment, to maintain the batch schedules as well as assist with ongoing technical schedule support to both the application teams and batch operation team.
Responsibilities:
• Performing batch testing for O&M, new processing, and stress & volume testing for system/software changes. Handling moderate and high complexity batch scheduling assignments.
• Working under minimal supervision and using established procedures, to ensure integration, scheduling, monitoring, problem resolution, and output control of applications in a multi-environment.
• Performing analysis of Control-M application related to effective utilization and efficient, accurate, and timely computer processing. Including the identification and resolution of service-level problems and mission-critical tasks.
• Executing ad hoc batch processing.
• Handling abend resolution.
• Maintaining exception alerting logic.
• Supporting interfaces including establishing and testing new interfaces as well as supporting current interfaces.
• Modifying production processing for year end.
• Planning and managing batch suspension/resumption for planned and unplanned extended outages.
• Analyzing current batch scheduling setup to determine ways to streamline/automate processing.
• Maintaining production jobs schedules and managing batch job process operations using BMC Control-M workload automation.
• Designing and implementing batch processing from test to implementation, including documentation, process flow design, oversight of testing and coordination and validation of implementation.
• Creating, updating and maintaining processing documentation including job creation, failure procedures and ad hoc processing guidelines.
• Creating reports using the Control-M/EM Reporting Facility.
• Integrating operations best practices into batch and interface Control-M software.
• Assuming 24-hour on-call responsibilities for production batch processing and operational issues.
• Identifying risks, documenting lessons learned, and managing corrective action plans related to implementation/upgrade and production operations activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree.
• NACI clearance obtainable.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Windows, SQL, Unix, and Solaris working environments and ability to script using Unix
• Working knowledge of operating systems (Unix/Linux), networks
• Knowledge in ERP product scheduling.
• 8 years of automated batch scheduling experience with a preference of at least 6 months of Control-M Enterprise scheduling or similar.
• 8 years of production control experience (batch scheduling, error resolution, process automation, requirements gathering, processing coordination, and interface design/support).
• 1-year SFTP experience (setting up file transmission configuration files).
• 1 year Unix experience (ability to read shell scripts and perform basic commands including move and copy).
• Proficiency in Bash and utilities in Linux/Unix for developing, troubleshooting, and customizing automation solutions.
• Control-M experience or similar.
Desired:
• Production support experience for government financial systems.
• SAP ERP system experience or similar.
