Job description

ROLE: Batch Job Scheduler--Operations Specialist II
Location: Rancho Cordova, CA
Duration: 1+ year
The Graveyard Shift hours are 11:00pm - 7:30 am, this role will initially be for the Thursday to Monday Graveyard shift.
The candidate selected will permanently work the Graveyard shift either Tuesday - Saturday or Thursday - Monday.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
  • Junior-level technician supporting systems operations functions, such as batch job scheduling, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Experience with automated enterprise batch scheduling software, preferably Tivoli Workload Scheduler
  • Provides 24x7x365 coverage for batch processing.
  • Performs file transfers, backup/restore functions, monitors memory usage and other system health indicators.
  • Performs troubleshooting of system stalls, failed batch jobs, system errors, as needed to resume normal operations in accordance with specific guidelines and procedures.
  • Escalates unresolved problems to system and application specialists.
  • Completes special projects and duties assigned by management to improve batch operations and identify automation opportunities.
  • Maintains direct knowledge of all system operations processes, procedures, and quality standards.
