Job description

Basic Job Description:
As a Blister and Carton Machine Operator, you will be responsible for packaging dietary supplements in PVC or Aluminum blister packages. You will be part of a team that is responsible for setting up and operating the following packaging equipment: Blister Machine and Carton Machine. In addition, you will be responsible for cleaning the equipment, utensils, and the room in which you operate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Comply with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), and must be able to interpret, follow, and complete scheduled production on time.
  • Must have the ability to read, follow detailed Batch Packaging Record for Blister/Carton instructions and fill out documents that include the following tasks:
  • Set up and operate equipment; if needed, adjust settings or alignments during operation.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment i.e. change molds or parts to different sizes.
  • Verify in-process product batch no., quantity and packaging material lot no., and quantity that was pulled by Warehouse.
  • Ability to perform operations necessary to package various consumable products.
  • Perform in-process monitoring until the batch is complete i.e. checking bottom foils, lidding film, carton, Lot No, and Expiration Date.
  • Ability to lift master cases of finished products or packaging materials up to 40 lbs on, off, and between pallets.
  • Can be exposed to allergens (such as egg powders), odors, dust or particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment and must report any concerns to management.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment/parts prior to and/or after use; disassemble and reassemble as needed.
  • Sweep/wash floors and work areas to maintain equipment and work area in a sanitary condition.
  • Return unused in-process products or packaging materials to designated areas.
  • Work with QA Personnel to perform quality checks on a daily basis.
  • Develop strong lines of communication with other co-workers to ensure plant efficiency.
  • Must wear appropriate gear: hairnets, gloves, hearing protection, dust masks, etc.
  • Yearly Refresher Training on the following topics:
    • Food Safety (HACCP/HARPC overview).
    • Food Defense.
    • Personal Hygiene and GMPs.
    • Sanitary and Safe Food Handling Techniques.
    • Allergens.
    • Updates or Revisions made to SOPs since the last training.
  • Must be able to do overtime when requested from time to time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are necessary, required, or directed by supervisors.

Education Requirements:
  • Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)ย 

Experience Requirements:
  • No experience is required; training will be provided.

Certification Requirements:
  • No Certification is necessary.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, grab, push, pull hold, and carry.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion work.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, and climbing for 8+ hours a day.
  • Must be able to handle varying temperatures per department.

Compensation: $20-25/hr.

This position requires fluency in Korean. If you are not, you will not be considered.
