Job Description Basketball Scorekeeper Pay: $17.24 per hour Part-time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible The City of Eagan is hiring a Basketball Scorekeeper. This position works with recreational basketball teams and officials, runs the game clock, and keeps the official scorebook. Applicants must have prior knowledge of the sport either as a participant, coach, or a scorekeeper

This position works Wednesday evenings. Hours are dependent on team registrations. Open until filled.

The ideal candidate will be available to start on September 14th. Essential Position Functions Understand all game and league rules pertaining to game play Ensure sportsmanlike conduct of participants and spectators by penalizing those who violate the rules of the game Prevent, mediate, and resolve conflicts that may arise during game play Ensure proper completion of all scoring documents and report scores to supervisor Provide written and/or verbal reports on all incidents, protests, ejections, and facility concerns Communicate and interact with a diverse participant population Maintain a positive, polite, considerate, and cooperative attitude Act in a fair, consistent, and professional manner Works independently Inform supervisor of any issues regarding the league Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Applicants must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to socially, physically and mentally perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described Good knowledge of the fundamentals and rules of the game Two (2) seasons of participation, coaching, or scorekeeping an adult recreational league Things that may help you be successful in this role Two (2) seasons of prior scorekeeping experience Working Conditions: 100% indoors Activity can be hectic while a game is in progress Hours of work include Wednesday evenings Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision and peripheral vision Located in the Twin Cities metro area, Eagan is home to about 68,000 people. The City operates under a Council-Administrator form of government, employing 300 regular full-time employees, and up to 400 seasonal and part-time employees.
