Job description

Louisiana Health and Rehab Options, Inc., (LHRO) is hiring a File Clerk/ DSW Worker to assist the clients with physical and mental disabilities in their homes as well as assisting in the office with managing paperwork. As the file clerk you will be responsible for file management and maintenance. The file clerk will organize paperwork according to an efficient filing system and digitalize all important documents. The file clerk will be expected to protect and update files as will as make them easily accessible to other staff. The file clerk must be organized and possess a serious understanding of confidentiality and data protection, the ideal candidate will be skilled in computers and detail-oriented. This employee works under the direction of the Waiver Program Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Sort all papers alphabetically and according to content, dates, significances etc.
  • Create or update records with new files and information
  • Store all paperwork in designated places securing the important documents
  • Enter paperwork into an electronic system either by data entry or by using optical scanners
  • Deal with all requests to access files and keep logs of borrowed papers
  • Develop an efficient filing system to make updating and retrieving files
  • Follow policies and confidentiality dictations to safeguard data and information

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or a GED Certificate
  • Proven experiences as file clerk
  • Knowledge of filing systems
  • Very good knowledge of MS Offices and office equipment such as photocopier, scanner, etc.
  • Good command of English both oral and written
  • Dependable with respect to confidentiality and policies
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Great attention to details

Physical Demands:

Regularly walk, stand, stoop, or sit on the floor. Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Often sit at a desk or table and type on keyboard.
