Head Baseball Coach and Teacher
Dublin High School
Dublin City Schools is seeking a head baseball coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Teaching positions are available in various schools and grade levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or higher and eligible for a teaching certificate in the state of Georgia
- Minimum of 4 years of successful head baseball coaching experience, or 6 years of varsity level coaching experience in a program with success, three years of collegiate coaching experience to replace high school experience
- Demonstrated success as a head baseball coach by winning GHSA region or state tournaments, or by participating in a sweet 16, elite 8, or final 4 series.
- Committed to building the program through GHSA-authorized out-of-season workouts, spring/summer speed and conditioning, and building relationships with the middle school program
- Committed to mentoring and leading the middle school coaches and program and working effectively with the middle school administration to build a tremendous feeder program
- Ability to communicate the budget needed to run your baseball program
- Must be a great communicator and teammate of the school and have the ability to build positive and committed relationships with students, staff members, parents, community citizens, and booster club members
- Willingness to work within the mission, vision, and beliefs of Dublin City Schools and the Athletic Department Athletic Handbook
- Hold a CDL license
Essential Functions
- Develops and administers state curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop unit organization
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
- Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school`s standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
- Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees
- Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.

- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent

Qualifications Profile
Certification/License:
- current Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification in elementary, middle, or high school content area
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
Education:
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Masters Degree preferred
Experience:
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level span preferred
FLSA Status: Exempt
190 day contract
Placement on the DCS Salary Schedule based on GaPSC certification and verified years of experience. A varsity coaching supplement is offered.
