R&D Baseball is growing into a leader in baseball player development, committed to its ongoing success. We are seeking a Full-Time Lead Hitting Coach to join our team of dedicated, forward-thinking professionals. We prioritize progressive insights, a strong work ethic, and continuous staff development to provide athletes with the most comprehensive training environment possible. Most importantly, we are a baseball organization looking for baseball people.
Position Summary
The Full-Time Lead Hitting Coach will lead the execution and continuous improvement of R&D Baseball's hitting department and player development system, under a shared vision between the Director of Hitting and the candidate. This role offers the opportunity to gain in-depth experience within our hitting department and play a key leadership role in shaping athlete outcomes. The coach will execute daily in-house and virtual sessions for athletes ranging from high school to professional levels.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and support small-group training sessions.
  • Program comprehensive hitting plans.
  • Enforce high standards of player commitment.
  • Cultivate a competitive and constructive training environment.
  • Operate and manage R&D Baseball's technology tools and systems.
  • Utilize R&D Baseball's internal data pipelines to support decision-making.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with athletes and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate industry-leading insights into training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience playing and/or coaching baseball at the collegiate or professional level.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated growth mindset and commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Background in strength and conditioning (coursework, certifications, and/or coaching experience).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Data proficiency.
  • Psychology background is a plus.

Additional Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises and throw batting practice.
  • Ability to work regular partial weekends and in seasonal conditions.
