Job description

Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager develops and implements sales and marketing activities, strategic development plans, and growth objectives for Continental Tanker Tech within an assigned geographic territory. This position is responsible for meeting or exceeding territory goals, developing new business, managing existing accounts, maintaining customer relationships, documenting sales activity in CRM, coordinating with branch leadership, and communicating CTTECH capabilities, services, policies, advantages, and value to customers and internal stakeholders.
Essential Functions

  • Meet or exceed all assigned budgeted goals for the assigned sales territory.
  • Develop and implement a new business prospecting plan that includes targeted lead generation, cold call prospecting, and weekly RFP generation.
  • Communicate and coordinate new business prospecting activity with Branch Managers and Senior Leadership.
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize internal CTTECH and PVS resources to grow internal and external revenue.
  • Use internal relationships and customer connections as a conduit for corporate top-down selling opportunities.
  • Manage the current account base to maintain accounts, revenue opportunities, and gross margins for each account.
  • Meet with current accounts in an organized manner and document account status, activity, and follow-up needs in CRM.
  • Effectively communicate Continental Tanker Tech policies, service capabilities, updates, and business changes to customers.
  • Maintain current and accurate customer files, sales forms, market data, and customer management records.
  • Input customer, market, sales, RFP, prospecting, and account data into CRM or other customer management systems on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of Continental Tanker Tech services, capabilities, advantages, benefits, and customer value proposition.
  • Understand the capabilities and limitations of Continental Tanker Tech on an individual branch basis and communicate those accurately to customers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and sales resource to Branch Managers, branch staff, and senior leadership.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain consistent communication with senior leadership regarding pipeline, account activity, customer feedback, market conditions, and territory performance.
  • Support customer retention, revenue growth, gross margin protection, and strategic territory development through disciplined account management and sales execution.
  • Follow company policies, customer requirements, pricing expectations, branch procedures, CRM expectations, confidentiality requirements, and all applicable safety and business conduct standards.

Non-Essential / Marginal Functions
  • Participate in customer meetings, branch meetings, trade shows, sales planning sessions, and business development events as assigned.
  • Support cross-functional coordination with Operations, Branch Managers, Service Writers, Parts personnel, Supply Chain, and leadership to help align customer needs with CTTECH capabilities.
  • Assist with special projects, sales campaigns, acquisition integration, customer onboarding, and market development initiatives as directed.
  • Support internal training, branch communication, and customer-facing material development when requested by leadership.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, email programs, CRM systems, reporting tools, and sales documentation practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience required.
  • Three to five years of technical sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and email programs required.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory and to customer, branch, or company locations as business needs require.
  • Ability to pass company-required pre-employment, safety, and site-access requirements.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements listed in this job description, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in tank trailer repair, transportation, fleet maintenance, industrial services, chemical logistics, heavy equipment, or related technical sales environment.
  • Experience using CRM systems to document account activity, sales pipeline, customer visits, RFP activity, and territory performance.
  • Experience selling service-based repair, maintenance, inspection, compliance, or fleet support solutions.
  • Experience coordinating sales activity with branch operations, service teams, parts departments, and senior leadership.
  • Experience preparing formal customer presentations, business reviews, territory plans, and sales forecasts.

Travel and Schedule
  • Candidate must be within regionally commutable distance to our locations in Geismar, LA, Creola, AL, and Beaumont, TX
  • Regular travel within the assigned territory is expected to support customer meetings, branch coordination, prospecting activity, presentations, trade shows, and business development needs.
  • Schedule may include adjusted start times, customer entertainment, early meetings, late meetings, overnight travel, trade shows, or other business events based on territory and customer requirements.
