Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Growth Marketing, the Associate Director, Organic Content & Growth (SEO & GEO/AEO) will help execute and scale Cresset's organic growth initiatives across SEO, GEO/AEO, content marketing, and AI-powered discovery channels. This role is responsible for creating and optimizing content that drives qualified leads, increases brand visibility, and supports long-term organic growth.
This is a hands-on role for a content marketer with strong SEO and AI discoverability expertise. The ideal candidate will manage content production workflows, develop and optimize high-performing content, and contribute directly to writing and editing. Working closely with the Growth Marketing team, external SEO consultants, and internal subject matter experts, this individual will translate strategic priorities into compelling content and measurable business outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a performance marketing mindset, using content and organic discoverability as levers to increase visibility, engagement, and lead generation across search engines, AI-driven discovery platforms, digital channels, and paid campaigns. They will help expand Cresset's digital footprint and authority signals to support both SEO and GEO/AEO performance.
Key Responsibilities
Content, Discoverability & Brand Authority
  • Develop and manage SEO-driven content plans, editorial calendars, and content workflows that support organic growth and lead generation objectives.
  • Write, edit, and optimize thought leadership, website content, and other digital assets.
  • Partner with external SEO consultants and internal subject matter experts to develop content briefs, identify opportunities, and execute content initiatives.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to increase off-site visibility and authority through third-party profile optimization, industry rankings, listicles, guest articles, interviews, publisher placements, citations, and brand mention opportunities.

Organic Growth & Search Optimization
  • Collaborate with the Head of Growth Marketing and external partners on SEO and GEO/AEO strategy and execution.
  • Execute initiatives that improve discoverability across search engines, AI assistants, LLMs, and answer engines.
  • Identify opportunities to increase qualified organic traffic and leads
  • Monitor and optimize content performance to improve rankings, AI discoverability, engagement, and business outcomes.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI search trends and recommend practical opportunities to improve organic visibility and authority.

Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, content marketing, or related marketing roles.
  • Proven track record of creating and optimizing content programs that drive measurable business impact.
  • Strong SEO expertise and working knowledge of GEO/AEO and AI-powered search ecosystems.
  • Strong content marketing experience, including editorial planning, content strategy, writing, and editing.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Experience managing content production workflows and collaborating with agencies, consultants, or external partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with SEO and performance tools such as GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes (optional)
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, fintech, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for content optimization and performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with off-site SEO, digital PR, publisher ecosystems, and brand authority-building strategies.

What We Offer:
At Cresset, we focus on people first. As a service business, our people are our assets. Engaging our clients and employees is our highest priority. Starting base salary is $115,000 - $130,000. Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, industry knowledge, and geographic location. Cresset offers a competitive compensation package including an annual incentive and a benefits package to all full-time employees including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, health savings accounts, short and long-term disability insurance, voluntary critical and accident insurance, and pre-tax parking and transportation programs.
