Job description

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. We are a proud member of the Pacific Coast Building Products Family of Companies.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Specialty Dry Mix Superintendent, this position loads, transports and unloads various materials utilizing a double forklift and performs other related duties as required. This position will also work closely with the Sack Plant Production Supervisor. The position in time may include cross training in several positions at both operations and will often "float" between the two; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Operates forklift to transport sacks to the shed to be stored.
  • Arranges sacks properly in yard by type, keeping piles straight.
  • Checks sacks for quality problems.
  • Checks to make sure sacks are stacked properly on pallets and plastic wrapped accordingly.
  • Stacks pallets and moves parts of pallets to new locations for use as needed.
  • Dumps skip buckets of waste material.
  • Inspect forklift for safety and proper working conditions.
  • Maintains and fuels forklift including checking and maintaining oil and water.
  • Works closely and supports the plant operator in various tasks to help maintain a good level of quality and production efficiency.
  • Cleans work area.
  • Performs required paperwork.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Able to read the tape measure.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Ability to operate forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties and be forklift certified.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.

SALARY RANGE: $25-$30/HR. DOE
