Controls Specialist / Programmer - Houston, TX - $85,000-$115,000 + BonusAbout the Opportunity:

A Tier-1 Technology and Integration firm is seeking an experienced Controls Specialist / BAS Programmer with project coordination skills to support enterprise-level Building Automation System (BAS) initiatives throughout the Houston metro. This hybrid role blends hands-on programming with light project oversight, offering a mix of technical work and team collaboration.

Position Details:
  • Title: Controls Specialist / Programmer (Hybrid - Programming & Project Coordination)
  • Location: Houston, TX
  • Status: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop BAS applications using project schematics, standards, and design documentation
  • Write, revise, and implement sequences of operation
  • Build, configure, and upload BAS databases
  • Program systems using Script/Line or Function Block/Graphical methods
  • Integrate devices and sub-systems via BACnet, Modbus, LON, and similar protocols
  • Configure and work across various BAS control platforms
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, and internal stakeholders
  • VPN into customer sites for updates, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
  • Set up alarms, trends, dashboards, and system monitoring tools
  • Assist with commissioning, equipment startup, and project turnover activities
  • Provide technical guidance to field technicians as required
