Job Title: Dental Assistant

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary:

TheDental Assistantis responsible for providing accurate and friendly customer service, and is responsible for preparing patients to see our dentist. This may involve preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing dental instruments, and performing some basic dental hygiene tasks. In addition to be attentive to daily office operations, and being accessible and responsive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients to be seen by our dentists
  • Help maintain a sterile work environment by sanitizing dental instruments
  • Set up instrument trays, treatment materials, and assist in basic dental procedures
  • Take X-rays of patients' teeth
  • Collect, record, and maintain the dental records of patients
  • Provide patients with information on dental hygiene and oral health
  • Ensure HIPPA Notice of Privacy Practice
  • Ensure standard infection control precautions for front office and patient lobby
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training:

  • Certification from an accredited dental assistant program
  • Dental X-ray certification
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Skills/Abilities:

To excel in this role, you should be self-motivated, highly organized, a good communicator, and have the talent to inspire patients and the team.

  • Proficiency in Dental terminology and workflow
  • Communication skills
  • Some management/leadership skills
