Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position will assist with the food service program as directed by
the appropriate supervisor.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
1. To set up dish area for lunch service.
2. To assist with computerized cash register and monitor student and staff data entry on
the food service line during breakfast and lunch.
3. To assist in the general cleanup by washing and putting away all lunch dishes, cooking
utensils, etc.
4. To work with and assist in the guidance of the work experience students.
5. To assist with housekeeping duties as necessary and required.
6. To keep all students, parent, and staff information confidential.
7. To have a positive attitude in working with students, parents, the staff members, and
community members.
8. Other duties as requested by the Food Service Work Team.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
2. Must be familiar with the operation of a food service program.
3. Must be able to practice acceptable sanitation and safety rules and regulations
demonstrated by the participation in an approved sanitation and safety course.
4. Working knowledge of computer keyboarding skills preferred.
5. Ability to work well with others and as a team member in a work team environment.
6. Good oral and written communication skills required.
7. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
8. Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills.


TESTING MAY BE ADMINISTERED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Arithmetic, spelling,
vocabulary, number comparison, name comparison, and writing ability.
