Job description

Position Summary:

The Barn Director is responsible for the overall management of a barn, including day-to-day operations of the barn,

the health and well-being of the animals, maintain cleanliness of the facility, and instructing and supervising the barn

staff. They will ensure high standards of animal care, as well as provide a safe and secure environment for the

animals, staff, and visitors. This position will require the Barn Director to coordinate feeding, watering, and barn

cleaning, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. They will also be responsible for the training

and development of staff, and the management of budgets and resources.

Principal Duties:

  • Manage daily barn operations
  • Schedule and coordinate staff
  • Oversee barn equipment and maintenance
  • Assist in development and implementation of safety protocols
  • Train, monitor, and develop staff
  • Communicate observations of horseโ€™s behavior and health to doctors or technicians
  • Ensure the cleanliness of facility, barns, arena, and pens
  • Maintain and track grain, hay, supplies, bedding, and supplement storage areas
  • Assist general maintenance worker with barn, stall, pen, fence, and gate maintenance as needed
  • Schedule and supervise barn technicians
  • Attend meetings and special events as required
  • Report to the Practice Administrator
  • Other duties as assigned
