  • Help set up, dial in, and maintain espresso equipment, including troubleshooting and cleaning routines.

  • Coach team members during live service to improve efficiency, speed, organization, and customer service standards.

Job description

Bayou Brew Coffee Co. is preparing to open and is seeking an experienced coffee shop shift lead, supervisor, manager, or barista trainer to provide hands-on training and opening support for our new team.

This is a short-term opportunity of approximately 3 weeks, averaging 15–20 hours per week, with the possibility of extending into a fourth week if needed.

We are looking for someone who has not only strong barista skills, but also experience leading a café shift, training baristas, maintaining drink quality and helping a team operate efficiently during service.

What You'll Help Us Do

You'll work directly with the owner and opening team to help establish strong café operations from day one, including:

  • Train new baristas on espresso preparation and drink execution
  • Help set up and dial in our espresso machine and grinder
  • Teach proper dosing, tamping, extraction and espresso troubleshooting
  • Train the team on milk steaming, microfoam and beverage consistency
  • Establish efficient bar positioning, drink sequencing and workflow
  • Coach baristas during live service rather than simply taking over the bar
  • Establish opening, closing and cleaning routines
  • Train proper espresso-machine and grinder cleaning and maintenance
  • Reinforce customer service and café standards
  • Help the team manage morning rushes and other higher-volume periods
  • Identify opportunities to improve speed, organization and consistency
  • Help develop team members so they can confidently operate without ongoing trainer support
Espresso Equipment Experience

Bayou Brew uses a Faema Enova 2-group traditional commercial espresso machine.

Candidates should be comfortable operating and training others on traditional commercial espresso equipment, including grinder calibration, dialing in espresso, shot extraction, steam-wand operation and routine cleaning/backflushing.

Experience specifically with Faema is not required. Experience with Faema, La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, La Cimbali, Rancilio or similar commercial machines is welcome.

Who We're Looking For

The strongest candidate will have 3+ years of coffee shop/barista experience and previous experience as a:

Shift Lead • Barista Trainer • Coffee Shop Supervisor • Assistant Manager • Café Manager

You should be comfortable teaching and coaching others, giving constructive feedback, troubleshooting café operations and helping newer baristas build confidence.

This is especially well suited for an experienced coffee professional who may already have a position elsewhere but is interested in a short-term opening/training opportunity.

Schedule: Approximately 15–20 hours/week for 3 weeks
Availability: Primarily mornings and afternoons, Monday–Saturday
Pay: $18–$22/hour based on experience
Location: Powder Springs, GA
