What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Bradley Hotel is seeking an experienced Barista to join our wonderful Coffee Bar! The Barista will contribute to the mission and success of the hotel by creating exceptional ways of personalizing and providing the best guest service in the hospitality industry and ensuring our high standards of service are met. The Barista will provide prompt and courteous service and quality beverages to all guests, encouraging the guest to return again which will generate repeat business. The Barista is responsible for providing quality guest services that include providing a positive first and last impression and a friendly, upbeat and clean atmosphere to every guest.

What are we looking for?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Welcomes and connects with every guest. Delivers legendary customer service to all guests by performing job duties with a "customer comes first" attitude.
  • Anticipate customer, hotel and department needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cue.
  • Strive to understand the needs and preferences of the guests and ensure that those needs and preferences are met.
  • Create a positive atmosphere. Express friendly and warm guest service with a smile. Greet the guest enthusiastically with a welcoming and proper hospitality greeting.
  • Demonstrate respect and make the guest feel important by using his or her name.
  • Initiate friendly and casual conversation with guests when appropriate. Find out what is important to the guests.
  • Suggest product with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals.
  • Operate and maintain the espresso machine.
  • Prepares quality espresso drinks, hot and cold blended beverages to standards.
  • Process information/merchandise through POS register system
  • Set-up and maintain pastry bar.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that employees can locate resources and product as needed.
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction by asking the guests about their experience. Inquire about guest's stay at check-out time and expresses a warm and sincere thank you for their patronage and invite them back again.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and shows appropriate respect for all individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Works effectively with others. Maintains open communication among team members. Provide constructive feedback that will improve guest service or operational effectiveness to hotel management.
  • Follows operational policies and procedures to include cash/cash equivalent, safety and security to ensure safety of all employees during each shift.
  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure own safety, safety of all guests and fellow employees. Know fire and emergency procedures.
  • Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with hotel standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Attend mandatory meetings.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Immediately report out-of-the ordinary issues to manager or supervisor.
  • Knowledgeable of facilities, service, and hours of operations of hotel as well as information about the local area to provide service information to the guest.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed. Effective oral communication skills.
