Front of House Manager - Big Chill Island House

Job Description

Summary of Position:

Situated at Barefoot Landing with stunning waterfront views, chef-driven cuisine, and laid-back coastal vibes, Big Chill Island House is on the hunt for a passionate and energized Front of House Manager to help lead our team and elevate the guest experience. As our FOH Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the dining room—leading, coaching, and supporting our front-of-house crew while making sure every guest leaves raving. From orchestrating seamless service to building an all-star team, you’ll set the tone for what Big Chill hospitality feels like: warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. Duties amp; Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations with a guest-first mindset and high standards for hospitality
  • Inspire, train, and develop your team to bring the Big Chill vibe to life
  • Manage scheduling, staffing, and shift execution to keep things running smooth as sea glass
  • Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and team development with guidance from the GM
  • Champion our “Enjoy the Ride” philosophy and infuse positive energy on every shift
  • Handle guest feedback with professionalism and care—turn challenges into comebacks
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests
  • Keep service consistent, procedures tight, and your finger on the pulse of the room
  • Represent BCIH in the community and create buzz with your involvement and leadership
  • Monitor labor and operational costs to hit targets without sacrificing experience
  • Stay compliant with food safety, health codes, and company standards
  • Be a strong, visible presence on the floor—you set the example!

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years hospitality experience with demonstrated managerial expertise
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to amp; from work
  • Must be ServSafe certified and will uphold all ServSafe guidelines
  • Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, ability to balance personal amp; professional life; some nights amp; weekends required
  • Professional appearance, punctual, reliable
  • Hospitality soul with guest friendly demeanor
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to work in very fast paced environment;
  • Advanced written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Well organized
  • Advanced leadership qualities and a desire to improve
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, POS
  • Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds as well as climbing up and down stairs quite frequently during shifts
