Book Processing Support Clerk (BPSC) Clerk Job Responsibilities
Performs duties to support the Book Processing operation by preparing materials needed for Book Processing in Pre-Processing, providing general support within the Book Processing department, and completing the processing of certain titles / orders in Post-Processing.
  • Work in Pre-Processing area, programming RFID tags, linking barcode numbers to certain books/branch libraries, and cutting roll mylar to size for unjacketed books, as directed by management.
  • Work in Post-Processing area trimming Kapco Easy Covers, ink-stamping books, sorting any no-read totes that may be diverted to the area or other related work as directed by management.
  • Sort True Dewey orders in exact Dewey sequence by doing a title-to-title sort within each True Dewey tote.
  • Distribute replacement kits and errors totes/books to Book Processors.
  • Distribute and pick up special orders as directed (hand-carries).
  • Pick-up, sort, and deliver damaged/defective, wrong/extra and goodwill books to Receiving or Returns.
  • Stock processing supplies as needed.
