Job description

Job Summary

The Lounge Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the lounge operations by ensuring exceptional customer service levels are met through proactive monitoring and supervision of employees and suppliers while fostering strong working relationships with Airline partners.


The expected pay rate is $28/hour. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.  

Your activities

  • Execute and enforce Swissport’s policies to ensure the lounge operations are compliant with airport, company, and regulatory requirements
  • Adjust manpower assignments based upon operational needs while monitoring adherence to meals and rest break policies
  • Coach, counsel and take appropriate disciplinary action as needed for subordinate employees
  • Supervise all lounge staff regarding the day-to-day operations of the lounge
  • Attend to and resolve customer concerns and/or complaints
  • Daily stock/inventory level monitoring and ordering
  • Greet and engage customers with a smile in accordance with hospitality standards
  • Replenish merchandizers and other stations with food and snacks as needed
  • Regularly check the drinks stations and maintain proper stock levels 
  • Communicate with BOH when stock is running low
  • Serve beer, wine and other beverages from our fully tendered bar 
  • Buss and sanitize tables, wash dishes and dispose of trash following all SOPs
  • Clean and wipe down surfaces, maintain an organized lounge area, and ensure cleanliness
  • Sweep, mop and vacuum floors as needed or instructed
  • Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and organization of inventory
  • Above all, deliver exceptional customer service with every guest interaction
  • Bid passengers a farewell and encourage their return
  • Other duties as assigned

Your profile 

  • Lounge agents must be 21 years of age or older 
  • Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage or customer service required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role
  • Good command of the English language both verbal and written 
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Reliable transportation to and from the airport 
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant type setting
  • Physically able to be on your feet during an entire shift (8-10 hrs.); walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching 
  • Positive attitude, excellent communication and willingness to get along with co-workers and work as a team
  • Ability to pass a 10 yr. federal background check 
  • Food Handler’s license and Responsible Beverage Service license or the ability to obtain
  • Willingness to work early mornings, late nights and/or weekends and holidays
  • Professional personality and strong customer service knowledge

Attending an onsite event allows you to interview in person and immediately move forward in the process if you receive an offer. Onsite, you'll also complete required onboarding paperwork and pre-employment screening, which may include an oral fluid drug screen. Our talent acquisition and human resource team will be onsite to guide you through the onboarding paperwork and drug screen. 

Because our employees work in secure airport environments, and safety is the standard in our operations, you will also need to complete the required airport security-clearance (badging) process and Swissport training before beginning work. Our team will help you schedule your badging appointment once the onboarding paperwork and drug screen have been completed at the onsite hiring event.
