The Country Inn & Suites of Mankato is seeking customer focused individuals who enjoy who enjoy providing excellent guest service. The Bartender’s primary responsibility is to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner. The Bartender is also responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting bar atmosphere while adhering to quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.
  2. Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  3. Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
  4. Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
  5. Must have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude during all interactions.
  6. Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.
  7. Must have a working knowledge of computers and basic math skills.
  8. Must have completed Alcohol Awareness training or be willing to complete upon hire.
  9. Must be 18 years of age or older.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
3. Prepares beverages according to restaurant standards while adhering to state and local liquor laws. Maintains complete knowledge of drink recipes and brands of liquors and wines served.
4. Consistently checks guests’ identification and monitors guest consumption to ensure appropriate levels of alcohol are being dispensed.
5. Follows all customer service, adult beverage and cash handling policies and procedures.
6. Maintains a clean and safe and appropriately stocked work area. Handles all adult beverages in compliance with restaurant standards as well as local, state and federal regulations.
7. Maintains a clean, organized and appropriately stocked work area.
8. Thoroughly completes any assigned set-up, side work or closing duties.
9. Thoroughly communicates with management and banquet associates through daily communication and attends required meetings.

10. Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.
11. Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned
