Job Summary: The Product Owner will be responsible for maximizing the value of the platforms used within Bank Operations by owning and managing the product backlog, defining priorities aligned with business strategy, and ensuring delivery of high-impact solutions through Agile methodologies.

This role serves as the primary decision-maker for product functionality, bridging Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient workflows.


Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with Operations priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap for workflow automation and digital operations.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business value, risk impact, regulatory needs, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as the final decision authority on feature prioritization and backlog sequencing.


Agile Delivery & Execution

  • Create, refine, and maintain user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews with Agile teams.
  • Partner with Scrum Masters and development teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Review and accept/reject completed work to ensure it meets defined business requirements.
  • Continuously adjust priorities based on feedback, performance metrics, and evolving needs.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Operations, Technology, Products, Sales/Front-office, Risk/Compliance, and vendors.
  • Gather and validate requirements while balancing competing business priorities.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and roadmap updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements (BSA/AML, audit controls, internal policies).


Platform & Governance Optimization

  • Establish and enforce Platform (ServiceNow, RPAs, Cores, Payments) governance standards and best practices.
  • Monitor platform usage, performance, and adoption to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and operational risk reduction.
  • Ensure documentation, audit trails, and control frameworks are maintained.

 

Post-Implementation & Value Tracking

  • Measure and report on KPIs (efficiency gains, turnaround time, error reduction, compliance impacts).
  • Drive continuous enhancements based on business feedback and analytics.
  • Lead periodic reviews to ensure the platform delivers maximum business value.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in Operations or Financial Services.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (required).
  • Experience in banking operations, risk, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Strong familiarity with ServiceNow (App Engine, ITSM, Workflow).


Skills:

  • Strong product ownership mindset and decision-making ability
  • Expertise in backlog management and prioritization frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
  • Strong understanding of workflow automation and process optimization
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment (BSA/AML, audit, internal controls)

  • Portuguese and/or Spanish proficiency is considered a valuable asset.
