GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR TRAINEE

Who is a GroupFitness Instructor Trainee?

The Group Fitness Instructor Trainee is responsible for learning how to provide a high quality, engaging and motivating experience, that includes safe, inclusive and enjoyable instruction and leadership for participants in all Group Experience classes. They do so by undergoing a live, virtual or self-directed training process, which may include completing pre- and post-training work, filming videos for assessment, etc., with the goal of attaining program certification by the end of the training process and becoming hired as a Group Fitness Instructor.

What will you be doing?

Pre-Training Preparation:

Completes and returns Instructor Agreement, if applicable to program.

Completes specified tasks within deadlines to prepare for completing the training session and progressing to certification, if applicable to program.

Completes and submits required videos to determine readiness, if applicable to program, and quickly applies feedback.

Training Session:

Completes Trainer-led or self-directed learning topics and tasks.

Refines skills related to GoodLife/s/Les Mills Canada's 5 Key Elements (choreography, technique, coaching, connection and performance).

Attends the session in its entirety.

Post-Training Preparation:

Completes specified tasks within deadlines to reinforce learning from the training session and progressing to certification, if applicable to program.

With the GEDM and Instructor, coordinates team teaching, including practice and delivery of class. Completes final assessment video.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Previous teaching or coaching experience.
  • Current CPR-A and AED will be required before teaching your first class as a Group Fitness Instructor
  • Responds and relates well to Leaders.
  • Puts a lot of effort into their activities.
  • Personally committed to, and actively working towards, continually improving themselves.
  • Pursue everything with energy, focus and a need to finish.

Compensation:

The selected candidate will start at a base wage of $15.00. The expected annual total compensation is $1,100 determined by the expected total number of hours to complete the certification.
