POSITION OVERVIEW


BDC is the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs. As a Senior Commercial Account Manager, you will develop new business opportunities and manage an existing portfolio of clients with revenues ranging from $3 million to $50 million. You will provide financing solutions and advisory services that support business growth. Your work will directly contribute to the success of Canadian businesses while being part of an inclusive team.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET


  • Meet with entrepreneurs to assess their business needs, operational challenges, and growth objectives, then recommend appropriate financing and advisory solutions.
  • Implement a sales and portfolio management plan aligned with Business Centre objectives to support client growth and retention.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of business opportunities through proactive prospecting, business development, and relationship-management activities.
  • Analyze financial information, structure, negotiate, and present financing proposals while applying sound credit judgment and rigorous risk assessment.
  • Maintain an active presence within the business community in the Centre-du-Quebec region and leverage Centres of Influence (COIs) to generate referrals and acquire new clients.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial banking, financial services, or business financing.
  • More junior candidates with strong potential and relevant transferable skills may also be considered.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience assessing creditworthiness and applying credit risk analysis principles.
  • Proven business development experience, including meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing client portfolios and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating financing solutions (e.g., loans, lines of credit).
  • Strong presentation and client communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain a professional network within the business community.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle (where required based on location).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established professional network in the Drummondville region or surrounding markets.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written).
