We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Pathology Informatics Analyst who combines strong Blood Bank expertise with broad Epic Beaker CP capabilities. The ideal candidate will serve as a Blood Bank subject-matter expert while maintaining the technical versatility to support Clinical Pathology applications, interfaces, middleware, instrumentation, upgrades, implementations, and enterprise initiatives.

You will work on one of our laboratory/clinical application teams which provides builds, testing, and support for a variety of clinical pathology and blood bank oriented applications.  The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Blood Bank Informatics and Epic Beaker CP (ideally certified), and work as a clinical pathology IT generalist on our team.  This is a highly technical role working across HL7 interfaces, SCC SoftBank's lab info system that interfaces with Epic, Epic Beaker CP (Clinical Pathology), and instrument connectivity/middleware in a highly regulated environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful candidate should have deep understanding of Blood Bank operations and transfusion workflows while also being capable of supporting Epic Beaker CP, Blood Bank applications, interfaces, middleware, laboratory instrumentation, upgrades, implementations and production support.
  • This individual should be capable of independently troubleshooting across the complete technical workflow-from the laboratory instrument and Blood Bank application through middleware and interfaces into Epic-and should be comfortable supporting Clinical Pathology areas outside Blood Bank when necessary.
  • This individual must be capable of independently managing complex production issues while also leading implementation and optimization work.

    The position requires someone who can shift priorities comfortably between laboratory operations and technical application work and who is not limited to a single application or workstream.

  • This role is intended to function beyond traditional application support. The analyst will participate in production support, optimization, upgrades, implementations, interfaces, validation, and enterprise laboratory projects across Clinical Pathology, with Blood Bank serving as the analyst's primary specialty.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Epic Beaker CP certification is highly preferred, and hands-on Epic with build experience.
  • Experience with Blood Bank Informatics i.e. SCC SoftBank/SoftWeb, HL7, Data Innovations, instrument connectivity and laboratory system implementations is highly desirable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in clinical, business, or other healthcare operational areas or 7 years no degree.
  • This position requires that the appropriate Epic certification be successfully obtained for a specific area of assigned responsibility within the first 90 days of completing training if not obtained prior to hire.
  • Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department areas.
