Operations Assistant

Operations | Banking
 Reports to: VP, Operations Officer

This position does not offer remote access.  It is an in-office position located in Winsted, CT. 

Summary of the Role

The Operations Assistant supports the daily operational functions of the Bank by processing transactions, reconciling accounts, supporting deposit and cash management products, servicing customer and employee requests, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, supporting and managing deposit products to include IRA/HSA portfolios. This role serves as a critical operations resource, helping maintain the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of operational processes while delivering exceptional internal and external customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and supporting banking operations
  • Process account transactions including deposits, transfers, wires, ACH transactions, and other payment-related activities accurately and efficiently
  • Reconcile accounts and operational reports, identify discrepancies, and take appropriate corrective action
  • Support cash management products and services, including customer setup, maintenance, and product administration
  • Assist with onboarding, documentation, implementation, and servicing of business banking products and services
  • Monitor operational activity to ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Support fraud investigations, adjustment claims, legal processes, and internal bank controls
  • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and responding to requests
  • Maintain accurate customer and transaction records within bank systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance efficiency, and strengthen operational effectiveness
  • Provide help desk and operational support as assigned and participate in special projects
