Administrative Assistant I - District Office Receptionist
Description: The Administrative Assistant is responsible to assist administration in maintaining the efficient and professional operation of the office and performing a variety of clerical tasks under the direction and supervision of building or district administration of the Seaford School District.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum high school diploma with documented business and/or secretarial course work beyond high school level; college degree preferred
  • Proficiency in clerical skills including typing and record keeping
  • Knowledge of and experience with technology; Microsoft programs preferred
  • Ability to communicate and relate to the public in a professional, courteous and efficient manner including proper telephone etiquette skills
  • Established record of good attendance and performance
  • Previous school-level experience preferred
  • Develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • Work confidentially
  • Complete work amid constant interruptions
  • Comply with schedules and meet deadlines

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the receptionist to the office and school visitors and answers a variety of questions for the public in a courteous manner
  • Distributes mail and packages upon arrival
  • Maintains orderly mailroom and main office areas
  • Greets visitors and issues passes/id badges when appropriate
  • Maintains office machines (copier, fax, printer, etc.) monitors and orders supplies for these devices and maintains service records
  • Keeps form bank stocked and clearly labeled
