Job description

Traveling Construction Superintendent

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Banana Group USA LLC is a construction and field services company headquartered in Weatherford, Texas. We specialize in sound insulation and acoustic treatment work performed at Amazon warehouse and fulfillment center facilities. We are committed to delivering quality workmanship on every project while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and integrity.

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field crews and ensure our sound insulation projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to Amazon's site quality standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

Location: Amazon warehouse/fulfillment center project sites (travel required; specific site assigned per project)

Classification: Independent Contractor (1099). Compensation, project assignment terms, and site-specific requirements will be outlined in the individual contractor agreement prior to engagement.

Reports To: Co-Owners, Banana Group USA LLC

The Superintendent is responsible for day-to-day field leadership of sound insulation installation crews working inside active Amazon warehouse environments. This role requires mobility across the country, as the superintendent will be assigned to project sites nationwide based on business needs. Scheduling is dictated by client requirements and project deadlines, and the contractor must be able to adapt work plans and crew hours accordingly to meet those demands.

As our Superintendent you will coordinate crew scheduling, materials, and site logistics; enforce jobsite safety compliance; serve as the primary point of contact with Amazon site personnel and general contractor representatives; and ensure installation work meets quality specifications.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail and a proactive mindset. Success in this role depends on leading by example through rigorous oversight of all installation activities, ensuring outstanding workmanship and successful project outcomes.

Quality control is a core expectation of this role — the Superintendent is expected to actively prevent installation errors before they occur, not simply catch them after the fact, through consistent inspection, clear direction to crews, and disciplined adherence to specifications.

Strong leadership is essential. The Superintendent must be able to command the respect of the crew, direct their work with authority, and ensure crews follow instructions reliably in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Supervision & Production

• Directly supervise on-site installation crews.

• Plan daily and weekly crew assignments to meet project schedules and Amazon facility access windows.

• Inspect installation work to ensure compliance with project drawings, manufacturer specifications, and approved submittals.

• Manage punch lists through project closeout, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items

• Track material needs, coordinate deliveries, and manage on-site inventory to avoid schedule delays.

Site Coordination

• Serve as the primary Banana Group USA point of contact for Amazon site safety/operations personnel and general contractor superintendents during active work.

• Manage badge/site access requirements, work permits, and any facility-specific rules of conduct for crews entering active Amazon operations.

• Coordinate work sequencing around live warehouse operations, including working around active racking, conveyor systems, and personnel traffic.

Safety Compliance

• Enforce jobsite safety procedures in accordance with company safety policy and applicable OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926), including PPE requirements, fall protection, and general housekeeping/hazard communication.

• Conduct or oversee daily safety briefings/toolbox talks and maintain required jobsite safety documentation.

• Report and help investigate any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns promptly per company procedure.

Quality & Documentation

• Maintain accurate daily field reports, crew logs, and progress photos or videos.

• Communicate schedule status, field issues, and change conditions to company leadership in a timely manner.

• Participate in quality walkthroughs with Amazon representatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 10 years of construction field supervision experience, ideally including insulation, drywall, acoustic treatment, or related interior finish trades. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

• Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements (29 CFR 1926); OSHA 30 certification required.

• First Aid and CPR.

• Ability to pass any site-specific access screening, badging, or background check required by Amazon or its general contractors.

• Familiarity with applicable building codes and ASTM standards for insulation systems.

• Experience with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).

• Strong communication skills and comfort acting as the field-level liaison with client and GC site staff.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Willingness to travel between assigned project sites.

Preferred

• Prior experience working inside active Amazon warehouse or fulfillment center environments or similar.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) crew supervision experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an active warehouse environment, including extended periods standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders/lifts as needed.

• Perform inspections and quality assurance activities in elevated work areas.
