Job description

Reports To: Plant Manager
Job Purpose: Paper scrap collection and preparation for recycling
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  1. Sort and load paper scrap into baling machine from rolling cages
  2. Operate automatic and manual baling machines using established guidelines
  3. Operate industrial forklift transporting scrap paper cages and bales
  4. Read scale to verify weight of bales
  5. Identify and record specific material grade and weight of each bale
  6. Load baled products, recyclable corrugated, etc. onto proper trailers for proper shipping
  7. Load trucks correctly maximizing weight limitations
  8. Notify Accounting Assistant promptly when salvage truck warrants pick-up
  9. Notify a supervisor promptly when baling machines need maintenance/repairs
  10. Empty trash
  11. Maintain proper housekeeping of Baler Room and baling machines as well as designated recycling storage areas within the plant
  12. Duties include standing for most of the shift, working at a fast pace, operating a forklift, moving large cages and bales and possibly working overtime
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time
  14. Execute the responsibilities of this position following company safety policies and company procedures
