  • Previous bakery retail experience
  • Journeyman Baker Certificate Required
  • Excellent customer service, communication and leadership skills
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation, policies and practices is an asset

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily Bakery operations to ensure exceptional customer service, food safety compliance, product quality, and financial performance. This role assists with staff supervision, inventory management, merchandising, production planning and maintaining operational standards while helping drive sales and profitability.

 Qualifications:

  • Previous bakery, food retail, or grocery management experience preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • Strong Understanding of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 25-50lb (bags of flour) 
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments and around bakery equipment.
