What You'll Be Doing

As a Pastry Assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of bakery production, including:

  • Preparing cakes, cookies, pies, danishes, tarts, and other baked goods
  • Measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes
  • Learning dough handling techniques including rolling, kneading, shaping, and cutting
  • Preparing fillings, icings, glazes, ganaches, and other specialty components
  • Baking products and monitoring quality throughout the process
  • Decorating and finishing pastries and desserts
  • Stocking and maintaining attractive bakery displays
  • Assisting customers with product recommendations and questions
  • Following food safety and sanitation standards
  • Helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bakery environment
  • Learning inventory, production, and waste-control practices
  • Contributing ideas and creativity to our bakery team
