The Role
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and team-oriented Pastry Baker to support the daily production of pastries, baked goods, and other sellable items. This role is responsible for preparing, proofing, baking, and finishing a variety of products while maintaining consistent quality, presentation, and production standards. The Pastry Baker will also assist with bread and focaccia production, support general kitchen needs, and help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality food. They take pride in their work, care about consistency and presentation, and are willing to jump in wherever needed to support the kitchen and production team.
What You'll Do
  • Pull, proof, bake, and finish croissants and a variety of pastries according to established recipes and production standards.
  • Prepare cookies, batters, fillings, toppings, and other pastry components and sellable items.
  • Assist with daily bread and focaccia production, including mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking as needed.
  • Follow recipes and production procedures accurately to ensure consistency in quality, taste, texture, and appearance.
  • Measure and prepare ingredients accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor baking times, temperatures, proofing, and product quality throughout the production process.
  • Assist with daily production planning and ensure products are prepared in the appropriate quantities and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
  • Properly store, label, and date ingredients and prepared products.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards.
  • Assist with general kitchen tasks and production needs as directed by the Pastry/Kitchen leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding production needs, inventory, timing, and any issues affecting daily operations.
  • Support a positive, collaborative, and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
  • Previous baking, pastry, or professional kitchen experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and production standards accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Valid Utah Food Handlers Permit required.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry ingredients, equipment, and finished products as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, stoop, and move throughout the kitchen and production areas.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move ingredients, equipment, trays, and finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate and work around ovens, mixers, proofers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.

About the Opportunity
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position
  • This position required work to be performed on-site at our production site in Midway, Utah.
