Job description

BAKERY DELIVERY DRIVER

Job Purpose Summary:

The Bakery Deliver Driver will work primarily with the bakery production space to deliver baked goods and food items to Joe Van Gogh cafes and wholesale customers.



Reports To: Bakery Manager/Production ManagerStatus: Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Bakery Manager and bakers in a fast moving, dynamic workplace.
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering products to our customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Reviewing orders prior to delivery, to ensure orders are accurate and match invoices.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and work with the Culinary Department to resolve any complaints.
  • Obtain and return delivery confirmations from all stops on delivery route.
  • Obtain and return all bakery materials from all stops on delivery route.
  • Adhere to delivery routes and schedules.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Conduct daily inspections of delivery vehicle and notify Bakery Manager of maintenance needs.
  • Early morning bakery deliveries, transitioning to afternoon cold brew/Roastery production delivery
  • Supports JVG Service Department by assisting with keg line cleanouts when directed.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • This position requires 37-40 hours per week, additional hours may be available.
  • Ability to work early mornings and weekends.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to be punctual, prioritize and manage time.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A valid NC Driver’s license.
  • Criminal background check as required by JVG’s institutional partners.
  • Proficiency reading spreadsheets.
  • This position prohibits the wearing of perfumes, colognes or fragrance.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Prolonged periods of constant repetitive motion with hands and wrists.
  • Prolonged periods of time on foot, squatting, kneeling, and bending.

All Joe Van Gogh employees are subject to a 90-Day Probationary Period.
