Description:

Makwa Global is seeking highly qualified professionals to support the United States Military Groupโ€“Iraq (USMILGP-Iraq) mission in Baghdad and Erbil, Iraq. These positions provide strategic advisory, mentoring, liaison, and cultural engagement support to senior officials within the Iraqi Ministry of Defense (MoD), Counter Terrorism Service (CTS), and Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs (MoPA).

The MoPA SAMA supports the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs and serves as a strategic advisor to senior Kurdish defense officials while assisting USMILGP-Iraq efforts to strengthen institutional effectiveness and coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise senior Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs leadership.
  • Foster professional relationships with Kurdish government and security officials.
  • Support strategic planning, policy implementation, and organizational development.
  • Facilitate engagement strategies and leadership coordination.
  • Provide cultural expertise and regional insight.
  • Develop reports, assessments, and executive-level briefings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluent Kurdish and English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs structures and operations.
  • Previous strategic-level experience supporting U.S. Forces in Iraq.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Middle Eastern Studies, Regional Studies, International Relations, or related field.
  • Experience working directly with Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs officials.

General Requirements

  • Must be eligible for deployment to Iraq.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain all required U.S. Government and Embassy credentials.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Iraq and the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility as mission requirements dictate.
  • Must be adaptable to working in a multinational, culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
