Job Description

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise systems that are critical to organizational operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with on-site responsibilities beginning on day one.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure system stability, performance, and scalability. You will be involved in troubleshooting complex system issues, implementing improvements, and ensuring that systems meet operational and security standards.

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role in system lifecycle management, from planning and implementation through ongoing support and optimization. This position demands clear documentation, proactive communication, and a strong commitment to quality and reliability.

The Senior Systems Engineer will also participate in virtual interviews and collaborative sessions, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. This role is hybrid and requires consistent on-site presence.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise-level systems and infrastructure.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, application, and performance issues.

  • Monitor system health, capacity, and availability to ensure high reliability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to implement system improvements.

  • Participate in system planning, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.

  • Teradata Platform Administration (3+ years): Administration of Teradata databases, node management, Viewpoint administration, Teradata Tools & Utilities (TTU), and vendor-led platform upgrades.

  • Monitoring & Observability (3+ years): Teradata ecosystem health monitoring, PSIM (Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring) administration, and proactive issue detection.

  • Performance & Workload Management (3+ years): Performance tuning, resource optimization, and Teradata workload management to ensure system efficiency and stability.

  • Backup & Recovery (3+ years): Teradata backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Automation & Scripting (3+ years): Automation of upgrades, provisioning, and software maintenance using BASH, Perl, Python, and Glink.

  • ETL & Data Processing (3+ years): Design, execution, and support of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure (3+ years): Cloud computing fundamentals, infrastructure resource allocation, networking, firewall concepts, and hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and Microsoft Azure environments.

  • Security & Compliance (3+ years): Support for audits and security plans aligned with federal compliance requirements, including NIST 800-53, IRS Publication 1075, SSA, and Medicaid standards.

  • Statistics (3+ years): Application of statistical concepts to support data analysis, performance measurement, and reporting.
