Position: Verification Specialist

Position Overview: The Verifications Specialist is responsible for conducting and completing employment, education, and reference verifications as part of the background screening process. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict compliance and confidentiality standards. The Verifications Specialist serves as a key point of contact with employers, educational institutions, and professional/personal references to confirm candidate information in an accurate and timely manner.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, in-office position.
  • Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct employment verifications by contacting current and/or previous employers to confirm job titles, dates of employment, and other required details.
  • Complete education verifications by reaching out to schools, universities, or authorized verification services to validate academic credentials.
  • Perform professional and personal reference checks by interviewing listed references, documenting responses, and ensuring information is captured accurately.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls and emails daily, including contacting employers, schools, and references and responding to verification inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, client requirements, and all applicable laws and regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Accurately document verification outcomes in the company’s system, ensuring all notes and findings are clear and complete.
  • Manage workload to meet turnaround time requirements and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding delays, issues, or discrepancies encountered during the verification process.
  • Handle sensitive personal information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
