What is a background screening analyst?

Background Screening Analysts are professionals who conduct checks on individuals’ backgrounds, typically as part of a hiring process. Their work helps organizations make informed decisions about potential employees and maintain a safe and trustworthy workplace. Background Screening Analysts must handle sensitive information with confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws and privacy standards.

Your responsibilities are to pull up an individual’s report, record your findings, and perform research to learn more about them. Your work may also aid in stopping identity theft and misconduct. As a background screening analyst, you ensure the identity and criminal or credit history of an individual. Companies may rely on you to authenticate information, but many analysts work for government agencies and insurance companies.
