Senior Software Engineer - Java & Payment Technologies
Our client, a fast-growing company within the EV/AV (Electric & Autonomous Vehicle) industry, is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to their team in Irvine, CA. They're seeking someone with strong experience in Java development, API integrations, embedded systems, payment processing/POS solutions, and UI development.
Please note: This is a fully onsite position requiring attendance 5 days per week at the Irvine office.
This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative embedded technologies that support next-generation payment and vehicle solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background with experience developing applications that interact with firmware, payment devices, backend services, and user-facing interfaces. You'll collaborate with engineers across hardware, firmware, and software teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience developing software for embedded systems
  • Strong Java programming skills
  • Experience building and supporting API integrations
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems and software architecture
  • Experience working with processors and peripheral interfaces
  • Background supporting payment processing platforms, POS systems, and payment devices
  • Experience with UI-layer development
