Duties and Responsibilities
- Scheduling patient appointments efficiently and handling appointment confirmations.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Providing friendly and effective patient service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
- Facilitating effective communication between patients, family members, and medical staff.
- Handling patient inquiries and resolving any issues with service or insurance coverage.
- Ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Facilitating clinic by rooming patients and readying them for their appointment with the provider.
- Managing clinical tasks like chart prep, record requests, referral coordination, etc.
- Supporting the clinical staff by performing basic medical tasks as needed.
- Organizing and monitoring office inventory to ensure supplies are stocked as necessary.
Requirements
- Must have previous work experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with medical insurance companies and the process of insurance verification.
- Excellent customer service skills and a patient-centric attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing interactions with patients and staff.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AthenaOne EMR, is highly advantageous.
- Prior experience in a vascular surgery practice is preferred.
- Strong ethical stance regarding confidentiality and data protection, aligned with healthcare regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further certification in office management or medical administration is a plus.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development in healthcare administration.
