Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Compensation Range: $48,331 - $54,571 (DOE)

Position Overview
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K-8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.
AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven Middle School Math Teacher for 5th and 6th Grades to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that fosters scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe all scholars can achieve at high levels through structured instruction, strong classroom culture, and consistent use of data to inform practice.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Achievement
  • Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students performing above and below grade level.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning and interventions.
  • Foster inquiry-based learning and hands-on scientific exploration.

Classroom Culture & Student Support
  • Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
  • Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
  • Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.

Collaboration & Professional Growth
  • Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to strengthen instructional practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the campus.

Family Engagement
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
  • Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Math or a related field
    OR
  • Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area

Additionally, candidates must:
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
  • Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Demonstrate commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities
  • Show strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction
  • Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment
