School Overview
Founded in 1867, Rowland Hall is an independent school in Salt Lake City serving approximately 1,000 students in preschool through twelfth grade. Driven by our vision of developing people the world needs, we believe in a transformational education that gives students agency and purpose, connects them to their global community, and empowers them to make the world a better place for all.
Rowland Hall sets the standard for teaching and learning excellence through our academic and co-curricular programs, including experiential learning opportunities, artistic self-expression, and a competitive athletic program that challenges students inside and outside the classroom. The Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 at the Lincoln Street Campus, focusing on academic, emotional, and social growth through a developmentally appropriate lens. The division promotes a strong culture of professional growth, collegiality, and collaboration among faculty and staff. Middle School-specific initiatives include a series of overnight class and grade-level trips designed to build community, a dedicated Winter Sports program, and various local community partnerships. To support digital literacy and modern pedagogy, the Middle School operates a 1-1 iPad program, with all faculty and staff utilizing the Canvas learning management system and Veracross student information system.

  • Participate actively in department, grade-level, and all-school meetings, and contribute to a collaborative professional culture
  • Communicate proactively with students, families, and colleagues to support student success and well-being
  • Integrate technology thoughtfully to enhance instruction and student learning
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and productive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the broader school community through participation in advisory, school events, and co-curricular opportunities
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, education, or a related field required; master's degree preferred
