This position is ideal for, but not limited to:

  • a retired teacher who still wants to work part time
  • a parent wanting to work opposite of their spouse's 9-5

Oxbow Academy is located in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

Oxbow Academy provides very specialized treatment. We are often the last hope to families in crisis who don't know where to turn. Make a real difference to families in need through joining the Oxbow team as our Math Teacher.

Our Math Teacher will work as part of our larger team in providing integrated care services to our students, which includes meeting their academic needs. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and a relationship-driven approach are how we foster the healing process and create lasting change, and this happens just as much in the classroom as anywhere else.

Students at Oxbow Academy have broken sexual boundaries and struggle with sexual compulsiveness. They commonly have been victims of sexual abuse or sexual trauma. These issues are often misunderstood and result in debilitating anxiety and shame. Our goal is to provide hope where it has been lost, rebuild trust where it has been broken, and help these young men and their families move forward. We need an engaged, creative, and dedicated teacher who will see the value in our students and will help them see it too as they continue their education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Current Utah Educator License preferred
  • Proficient in IEP and 504 paperwork
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Able to pass criminal investigation background checks
  • Able to pass motor vehicle record check
  • Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
  • First Aid & CPR certified (we may provide)
  • NCI certified (we may provide)
