Job description

WHO YOU ARE:
The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting is primarily responsible for the preparation and oversight of QTS' consolidated financial statement reporting and technical accounting support. This individual will collaborate across departments and with external auditors, gaining broad exposure to the Company's operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements (both QTS consolidated and stand-alone entities), footnotes, and related disclosures for external reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Technical accounting research and transaction support.
    • Provide technical accounting guidance to resolve accounting and reporting issues, ensuring proper application of accounting standards.
    • Stay abreast of emerging accounting pronouncements and assess their potential impact on the business.
  • Assist in management of the Company's share-based compensation expense.
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
  • Use accounting concepts, reporting experience, and analytical skills to resolve questions/issues in efficient and effective ways.
  • Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement, including automation and standardization, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain effective controls over financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported financial information.
  • Support ad hoc financial reporting requests as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Five or more years of relevant accounting and/or financial reporting experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, as well as experience with technical accounting research
  • Three or more years of management experience
  • Advanced Excel experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Master's degree in Accounting
  • Three or more years of public accounting experience
  • Eight or more years of relevant accounting and/or financial reporting experience
  • Experience with IFRS accounting and reporting
  • Past experience includes increasingly progressive responsibility at a large company
  • Experience with financial reporting platforms such as Wdesk

  • Strong analytical/technical skills and experience analyzing and interpreting financial data
  • Experience partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders and managing to results
